I watched both my bestfriends battle addiction - 1 was shooting up dope straight out of high school back in like 2005. He joined the Crips, was selling crack, shooting people, etc. He did that for many years, then, he kicked the dope and started doing meth. He smoked it for a minute and then, he went to shooting it up. Only thing worse than succumbing to addiction is being a mostly sober friend and watching your homie, do that shit to himself. Like bro, we had so many plans for this life and he just threw his whole life away. My other homie, too...bestfriend since I was like 16 and he was chomping vicodins, 10 at a time, then he was doing coke, then smoking crack and lying about it. I was literally chillin at the spot, selling weed to the dope man, when he came by for a few rocks....I knew wtf was going on. One thing drugs do, is they change people for the worse and even if the drugs don't kill em, it might kill the part of them that you knew. Ain't no silver lining or prize at the finish line for being a junkie. It's a cold life, you'll get diseases like Hep C (that will live with you forever) and your dick will shrivel up and be useless, you'll die, alone and filled with regret. Fuck that shit. I come from Flint, MI...we start out at the bottom of the barrel around here...I just wanted to see my people prosper and enjoy life and instead, this place is like a nightmare, where everything you love will be torn asunder and laid to waste.
